There is some good news for Google Pixel users on the AT&T carrier network. It appears that visual voicemail has finally been enabled for the carrier across many Pixel devices automatically.
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL support will now be provided via separate extended support releases for obsolete devices. We'll be making the first one based on an official release in the near future. They can only reach the 2020-11-01 security patch this month due to the lack of a release with changes outside the scope of AOSP such as new GPU firmware. First off, download the factory image for your device from the links below. Make sure that you download the files only for your model and carrier. Several users have rebooted their device to suddenly see that there is now a new tab available on their Phone app that allows the use of visual voicemails.

For now, it appears that the feature is only rolling out to the ones on the beta version of the Google Phone app. But if you can’t wait to get your hands on it, then simply enroll in the beta program through this link.
You also need to make sure that you are on the latest January security patch update as a couple of users have stated that they only got the option following a system update.
To ensure that you are on the latest update, just head over to Settings > System > System update on your Pixel phone.
Another thing observed by several Redditors was that the changes do not come into effect until the AT&T visual voicemail app is deleted.
Worth noting that if you don’t delete the AT&T Visual Voicemail app – assuming you have it installed – and reboot, the stock Google dialer won’t show or try to activate the native Visual Voicemail option. But can confirm that it works once the AT&T VVM app is gone. Yay!

Hence, if the option is still not showing up for you, then you need to make sure that you tick all the prerequisites mentioned above.
However, if visual voicemail continues to be non-existent for you, then it is quite possible that the feature is enabled through a server-side switch for select users only for now and will be rolled out for everyone in the coming days.

Also worth mentioning is the fact that AT&T isn’t the only one benefiting from this random feature drop as FirstNet and Cricket Wireless users have too reported that the visual voicemail option is now available for them.
Unlocked Pixel 3 on FirstNet. Just checked, and I now have native visual voicemail in the phone dialer.
