Bonanza centers on the Cartwright family, patriarch, Ben and his sons, Adam, Hoss and Little Joe. Life on the Ponderosa Ranch is never dull, as you might expect on the Nevada frontier. There are swindlers, robbers, vindictive posses, injustice, prejudice and corruption, not to mention, what might often be considered the biggest danger to a cowboy – love! One of the first Westerns to focus on family and family values, Bonanza has it all: the power to move you to tears, keep you on the edge of your seat, and to make you laugh out loud.
