About Purple Coin Comets: When you access a Galaxy while a Purple Coin comet is in orbit, you'll have to partake in a challenge to collect 100 purple coins in a specified part of the Galaxy. Red Coins are items in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. They only appear in secret ares and after completing a floor in ScareScraper. Unlike the typical coins in the Luigi's Mansion series, these coins are big, red, floating coins that do not count toward the treasure count. In Story Mode, Red Coins will only appear in secret areas.
When you start the game after the cutscene go to the front desk and check-in. The first character introduced to you is owner of Last Resort who will guide you to your rooms.
